James A. Hall is a founding shareholder of Branton & Hall, P.C. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1975 and is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, The United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and The United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. He received his Bachelors Degree from The University of Texas in 1971 and his Law Degree from Baylor University in 1975.

Mr. Hall is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and in Civil Trial by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He currently serves as a Director of the State Bar of Texas, as well as a Commissioner of the State Commission on Judicial Conduct. The State Commission on Judicial Conduct is the independent Texas state agency created by an amendment to the Texas Constitution in 1965, that is responsible for investigating allegations of judicial misconduct or judicial disability, and for disciplining judges. Only two lawyers out the State of Texas serve on the Commission at any one time.

He has served as President of the San Antonio Bar Association for the 2001-02 year, as President of the American Inn of Court, William S. Sessions Inn (1998-99), and as President of the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association (1990-91).

Attorney Hall also served the State Bar of Texas as Chairperson, District 10C Grievance Committee (1993-1996; 1999-2002) and Committee Chair, District 10C Grievance Committee (2000-2002).

Mr. Hall is a fellow in the Texas Bar Foundation and is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and The American Board of Trial Advocates. He has been a licensed pilot since 1980, and currently holds a multi-engine and instrument rating.
