SC&S lawyers devote most of their professional time to assisting clients in eight closely-related practice areas: Tax Counseling, Estate Planning and Administration, Real Estate, Business Planning, Elder Law, Tax Controversies, Charitable Planning, and Litigation Support.

* Estate Planning & Administration

Through their Estate Planning practice, SC&S lawyers advise individuals and families with regard to managing and disposing of their assets. SC&S lawyers strive to meet the personal needs of each client by devising strategies to protect their assets from creditors, as well as estate and gift taxes. SC&S’ Estate Planning practice includes the preparation of wills, trusts and other related planning documents, as well as acting as trusted counsel with respect to generation-skipping tax planning, charitable giving, the use of family limited partnerships and other business entities, life insurance, qualified retirement plans and IRAs.

SC&S lawyers also assist executors, trustees, heirs and beneficiaries in matters concerning the administration of estates and trusts, whether they involve general management or specialized planning. Known for their expertise in the field, SC&S lawyers are well versed in probate proceedings as well as the preparation and filing of estate tax and related returns with the Internal Revenue Service. SC&S lawyers seek to provide fiduciaries with the advice and information they need to fulfill their duties in the most efficient manner.
